THE COSTS AND THE BENEFITS

What Does It Cost?

The team entry fee is only $875.00 ($125.00 discount if you have your own qualified steersperson).

We had a great turn-out of teams from across the province. We expect at least 70 teams again for 2008.

If you want to get into our event on July 19th, 2008 get Your Team Registration in as soon as you can.

 

 

For Your Entry Fee You Receive:

  • Two free practice sessions with an experienced instructor.
    • FREE ENTRY into Laurel Creek Conservation Area for Practices and on Race Day provided you have your Kiwanis Waterloo Region Dragon Boat Festival PASS. No Entry Fee on the day of the event, July 19, 2008 for all Dragon Boat participants so long as you have your Dragon Boat Pass (See your team captain). Again this year it is included in the registration fee for 2008.
  • Participation in at least THREE races.
  • Use of a professionally trained steersperson during your races if you paid the $875 entry fee.
  • Free daytime campsites on the waterfront.
  • Trophies and prizes for winning teams. The winner of the Consolation Race Final receives a team trophy. The winner of the Championship Race Final receives a team trophy and individual medals.The winner of the Grand Championship receives the EVENT Trophy, individual medals and a team prize.
  • Free entry into the Festival's Arts & Crafts Fair.
  • A great summer outdoor recreation experience.
  • The only way you can get a Commemorative event t-shirts is to become a Volunteer at our event or ...
  • You can win a free T-Shirt if you raise at least $100 for the Grand River Hospital through our Charity Pledge program. See the section under "Charity Pledges"

Get Busy Now!

  • Talk with one of the resource people listed in this package; tell them you are interested in entering a Dragon Boat team; and ask them for any assistance that you need.
  • Find out who else from your group, business, or organization might like to get involved. Organize your team and search out support - financial and otherwise.
  • Ask us for a video presentation to learn more about Dragon Boating and the Festival. Our contact people will respond to you a.s.a.p. We can even come and talk to your group.
  • Find out what a great event the Dragon Boat Festival is by talking to people who participated or attended last year.
  • Make a decision to proceed before it's too late. DON'T DELAY! COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM and ENTER YOUR TEAM by June 1st, 2008!
