Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival

SPECIALTY RACES - July 19, 2008















For a donation (even $5) you can just come out on Race Day and jump in a Dragon Boat for the "FUN RACE" for all novices. You need to sign up in the Beer Tent area (register and sign waiver). That Dragon Boat Race is scheduled at about 2PM between sets of races.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT RACE, sponsored by Victoria Place.

This is a FUN Race targeting people who have never been in a Dragon Boat Race but would love to just try it. Sign up will be at the Race Day ONLY. Look for the sign-up sheets at the beer tent. Pick which boat you want to join and have some FUN! There is no cost to enter so long as you paid an entry fee into the park or you are a volunteer. Participants may donate whatever they wish AFTER the race has completed to “The Grand River Hospital Fund”

TRY SOMETHING YOU HAVE ON YOUR "Things I want to do in my Lifetime" LIST

  • 1. Sign a Roster sheet
  • 2. Sign a waiver (Must be 18 years old or older or if 16 or 17 yrs old must have parent/legal guardians written permission. No one under 16 allowed in dragon boat)
  • 3. Wear a Personal Floatation Device (use of PFD supplied free)
  • 4. Any other common sense rule that applies
  • 5. Open to all Volunteers, and anyone with paid attendance to the Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival of Waterloo Region
  • 6. First 100 paddlers to sign up on Race Day – No Fee but donations to the Grand River Hospital Fund would be much appreciated.
  • 7. Participants may donate whatever they wish before or AFTER the race has completed to “The Grand River Hospital Fund” And a great big thanks to Elizabeth Lin for coming up with this idea!
